Nifty Outlook Contact Auto Completion Capture Tool
A buddy of mine sent me an email this evening stating his local ISP had suddenly changed their domain name ... and thus all their hosted email addresses as well ... good grief that's about the dumbest thing I've heard someone do in a while, but I digress. I'd wager a million bucks someone forgot to renew their domain name OR was offered big bucks to buy it.
So now people trying to email him are getting bounce backs 'cause his old email address is dead. Obviously, he wants to send out an email to all his contacts letting them know his new address, but many of the people he corresponds with aren't in his outlook contacts ... their in his outlook auto complete. So his question to me was how can he get an export of all the contacts in his auto complete list ... hmm, great question!
A couple minutes of Googling and I landed on a very small free app called NK2.info http://www.nk2.info/
NK2.info is a small utility to view and export the contents of an Outlook auto completion file.
• NK2.info can recover e-mail addresses and names from a corrupted NK2 file!
• Save money - NK2.info is donation based.
• Absolutely no spyware!
It's a really nifty piece of software. Run the single .exe file and click the browse button. The app defaults to where your .NK2 file (it stores your auto complete data) should be located. Click Open and you are presented with all your auto complete contacts.
For me it showed all my local domain auto complete contacts followed by non local domains (some of you are in my auto complete list). You could then dump these to a CSV and then import into outlook ... or import into excel then copy/paste into a mass email.
So just throwing this tool out there in case anyone else ever runs into a need for capturing their outlook auto complete data. Very easy to use simple free tool ... I just love things with adjectives of simple, easy, free :-)

Thanks for this. Handy little tool!
