I was informed today that last night was the finale of the Biggest Loser TV show ... which of course made me feel like a bum for not posting the final results of our Church IT Biggest Loser contest. So without further adieu ...
25 people registered their $25 to join the contest making the total POT $500!* Then Alan Hunt of VR6Systems.com donated a $200 Garmin Nuvi 200 as a prize as well.
* paypal fees ended up eatting the final POT down to $465.29 from $500, but I went ahead and made up the difference. Next time I'll have to factor that into the final payout somehow. There is no free lunch.
The contest ran from Dec 10th through April 1st ... just shy of 4 months ... 114 days to be exact.
In the end our group lost a combined total of 356 pounds!! Some lost a little and some lost a lot, but regardless I'm stinking proud of 'em just for signing up to try.
CONGRATS TO OUR BIGGEST LOSERS!!!
Our final official results based on %lost:
1st - Matthew Irvine - 18.80% - 50lbs - won $400 (80% of POT)
2nd - Jason Powell - 18.14% - 39lbs - won Garmin Nuvi ($200 value)
3rd - Ed Buford - 16.53% - 39lbs - won $75 (15% of POT)

Those of us in the double digits were Matthew (50lbs), yours truly and Ed (39 lbs each), Chad and Bryson (28 lbs each), Dave (26 lbs), Tony (23 lbs), Matt (20 lbs), Caleb (18 lbs), Andrew and Derek (16 lbs each) ... way to go guys!!
On a personal note I have to give HUGE PROPS to my man Ed. Without his accountability I would not have gotten down this far. We pushed each other, encouraged each other, and that made all the difference in the world. Ed also came up with the ultimate low cal snack of celery and salsa ... Mmmm tasty!
I'll give my own personal post mortem in a future post. Needless to say this has been a huge positive change for me, but I'm not done. I can still grab flab and thus we'll be kickin' up Biggest Loser #2 in a few weeks. I've prob got another 15-20lbs to go! How 'bout you? Got some gut jelly you could stand to loose? ;-)
