New Solutions for Automated Site Recovery from Dell and VMware: The virtual infrastructure enabled by Dell EqualLogic and VMware VI3 technologies now automate disaster recovery planning and execution by natively integrating the PS Series Auto-Replication feature directly into VMware’s Site Recovery Manager software.

This is likely the direction we'll be going at MTW. We have the Equallogic SAN (and we purchased a second one off ebay), and our entire environment is on VI3.

Right now I'm pricing out some colocation facilities. I'm looking at about $1,000 a month for 10U of rack space, 10A of power, and a 5MB internet connection.

I just upgraded the firmware on our SANs, so I hope to start testing the replication tomorrow or Friday. And it looks like Site Recovery Manager was just released, so I can start testing it, too!

Fun stuff. Check out SRM - it is quite nice in what it can do.
