So Kim and I were without kids for 2 days and decided to hit the theater. We haven't seen a movie together, just the 2 of us, since ... umm, well ... not since Signs.
Night 1 we saw War of the Worlds - we both gave it thumbs down. Lame dialog, nothing spectacular CGI, and why did so many things in it remind us of Finding Nemo? Monster overhype IMHO.
Night 2 we saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith - we both gave it thumbs up. Funny, good character chemistry, stuff blowing up, car chases, and only 2 "that's impossible" moments.
So after enduring about a combined hour of trailers I think Stealth looks to be the dumbest upcoming movie. A computer controlled stealth fighter gets hit by lightning which "rewires" it making it self-aware and then it decides to wipe out mankind. Hmm, haven't we seen this plot A ZILLION TIMES BEFORE!!! ARRRGGH!!!
The Dukes of Hazzard also looks to be pretty dumb ... but may be worth a view at the dollar theater. Afterall, the Dukes are part of my upbringin' and watching an orange '69 Dodge Charger fly through the air is just plain kewl :-)
Here's some fun Dukes Trivia like - The original Georgia location of Cooters Garage was torn down in 1998 to make way for a church expansion, and the original Boar's Nest is also now a church.
What's your "Dumbest Upcoming Movie" pick???
By far "The Island" looks like the stupidest movie of the summer.

Have to agree with you... Stealth.
