35 years ago on September 25th I entered this world. From what I know, my biological mother was 17 or so at the time and unmarried and wisely choose to put me up for adoption. I almost never remember that I was adopted...just like it usually takes me a while to even remember how old I am :-)
Today as I sat on the bank watching my 2 boys and my Dad fishing I thought about my adoption for a moment. I thought about how it must have felt for my biological mother to give me up...and how much joy my parents felt the day they got me. I have no real desire to find my bio-mom, but I would like to tell her thanks. Thanks for giving me up so that I could end up right here right now.
Last night we slept at my parents ... spent the morning fishing ... ate some very tasty brats for lunch ... everybody took a nice long nap ... hung out with my parents ... my 7yr-old surprised me with the new Burnout Revenge game for the xbox ... ate leftovers for supper ... made the 2 hour trek back home. It was a very good day.
Wow! Happy Birthday man.

Happy Birthday, Man. I have a few family members who were adopted. Makes you really appreciate that whole adopted as heirs thing. Not because they had to, but because they wanted to love you. God is awesome.
